Come out for opening day of the Interstate Farmer's Market May 19th, from 3-7pm.

More information on vendors coming soon!

Happy Spring.

We're looking for volunteers for our 2010 season. If you are interested in volunteering for a 2-3 hour shift at the market email us. We'll have a sign up sheet at the Pancake Breakfast as well. Bridgeton Spring Clean Up this Saturday

Spring Clean up

Saturday April 10

Please use this opportunity to help clean up our neighborhood.
Work parties will clean the triangle at Gantenbein Ave and Marine Drive and along Bridgeton Road and Marine Drive.

There will only be two drop boxes; one at each end of the neighborhood.

The drop box at the corner of Bridgeton and Gantenbein is for yard debris ONLY!

The drop box on the east end of Bridgeton Road is for general junk only. (No yard debris!)

This year we are strongly encouraging recycling materials.

We will have a special location for recyclable metals, electronics, appliances and for the first time we will accept

old paint.

Three secure shred boxes will be at Channel’s Edge for your convenience.

( A $ donation for the document shredder is encouraged)

We hope to see everyone.

Floating Home Residents and the Census

I found out quite by chance that residents in floating homes were not mailed a census form. We are supposedly being counted one by one by the census takers.

BUT - they have been to my moorage twice and yet did not get my information - so I am not too sure how they are doing this.

I hear they have been seen on Bridgeton I assume they are around - just not in any pattern I can figure.

I called the Office of the local Commissioner in charge and they had no idea floating homes were not on the mailing list!
So whose idea this was is unknown.

Not trusting to a chance encounter with the census takers after 2 misses [and I was home] - I got a census form at the Library and mailed it in.

It is important to be counted as each of us is worth over $1000 to Oregon in Federal monies.

If you have not yet been counted - please get a form and mail it in.

County Candidate Forum this Wednesday

Forum for Multnomah County Chair

and District 2 Candidates

Bridgeton in is District 2

Wednesday, April 7 7:00 PM, Hollywood Senior Center:

Multnomah County Chair (two candidates) and Multnomah County District 2 (eight candidates) (North and Northeast Portland)

Candidates for Chair will go first, followed by the candidates for District 2.

The Multnomah County Democrats are sponsoring a series of candidate forums for the Democratic candidates in local races. These are all non-partisan positions, and if no candidate receives a majority in the Primary in May, there will be a runoff between the top two in November.

All forums will start at 7pm. In those forums which feature 2 races, the race with the smaller number of candidates will get the 7pm time slot with the larger race to follow.

The format will be a “moderated debate” with each candidate given an opportunity to give an opening statement, followed by both pre-selected and audience questions.

(Note: The Party does not make candidate endorsements.)
